"We went to the Rural Museum in Les Genevez for a reading, a bit like an old-time vigil. Before settling down we visited the building, the vaulted kitchen with its smoke-blackened walls, the bedrooms with beds about as long as my legs, and the barn full of old agricultural machinery... It was like diving into our ancestors' lives; a great way to start an evening. A few days later, we found out that the building was the oldest in the Franches-Montagnes, in fact the entire Jura. It dates from the battle of Marignan in 1515! The experience has made us eager to discover the other museums in the Jura and Bernese Jura. They may be small but they are packed with so many treasures."
