"That's the BFM, as they say in the Franches-Montagnes. Loads of empty and full bottles, wooden barrels, large vats and further back, big wooden tables with empty glasses just waiting for us. The boss, a trained enologist with a plateful of grain in his hands, leads us on a guided tour and lets us taste his craft beers. We have the chance to smell and taste the ingredients at every stage as we learn how this traditional beverage is made. After a quick look at the barrels bound for America, we finally get to taste these original beers, starting with the labels. There are so many types of beer: bitter, cloudy, dark and tasty, all served with bread and sausage... I think I'll have another glass. Cheers!"

Info
The Brasserie des Franches-Montagnes (BFM) is a regional brewery established in Saignelégier in 1997. It was founded by Jérôme Rebetez, an enlightened young enthusiast who wanted to create a beer with the typical flavour of the Jura.
Guided tours followed by seasonal product tasting.
The Brasserie de Porrentruy was founded in 1996 by Martial Courtet. Over the years, this self-taught brewer has created and perfected eight varieties of beer, including the strong, dark Veuve Noire (Black Widow), inspired by a charity project in Cameroon in 2005. During his four-month stay, he also founded a craft brewery in Elig-Mfomo (population 7,000). The tasting cellar at the craft brewery in Porrentruy is the former cold storage room (100 m2) of a 19th century brewery. Tours and tastings can be booked for CHF 10.00 per person.
