"Just after the canton of Jura was founded, I tasted the famous new Jura wine. To be honest, it wasn't bad... Last summer, our gym club went on an outing to the Jura and dinner was served with a selection of local wines: Riesling Sylvaner du Clos des Cantons with the starter, Muscat de la Birse (Valentin Blattner) with the first course and Cuvée Olivia (red wine, also by Blattner) with the main course. I was very pleasantly surprised. The Clos du Canton wines have come a long way and the offerings by Valentin Blattner are certainly a match for the great wines of Western Switzerland."
