"We meet up in Tariche on the banks of the Doubs and everyone is there. They soon suggest putting me in a comfortable-looking chair attached to a large wheel. There are feet to support the Joëlette (as the unusual machine is known) on the ground. Once I am sitting down, they strap me in and one person stands in front of me, attaching a kind of harness to their back to make their task easier. Then they have to grip the two handles to pull me along, while a friend positions herself behind to maintain balance. Everything is ready, so off we go! The rest of the group follows us. It is so nice to be able to go for a walk in the heart of the countryside. The suspension beneath the wheel even lets you go "off-road" and tackle paths far too steep for a standard wheelchair. What a lovely day!"
