"This is a real family route following quiet byroads. We weren't caught out by any difficulties. An ideal way to discover the Franches-Montagnes with their distinctive little villages, wonderful isolated farms and pastures where the cows and horses graze freely. Just before Les Rouges-Terres (not to be missed!), you should pay a short visit to the Etang des Royes, a smaller counterpart to the Etang de la Gruère but with far fewer visitors - an idyllic place! We stopped off at the Station hotel in Le Pré-Petitjean for a welcome snack."
