"I am a keen horse rider, so when I heard a friend talking about the equestrian network in the Franches-Montagnes, I agreed with a group of friends from my horse riding club to organise a little trek in that wonderful region. After contacting a well-known supplier and ordering the AREF map, we planned our trip. On Saturday morning, we all set off from Les Breuleux towards Les Reussilles, Montfaucon and our final destination, Les Emibois, where we would spend the night. We made our first stop at the house of a restaurant owner, who kindly offered us a pasture so we could release our horses during the lunch break. I have such fond memories of enjoying that meal on a wonderful terrace, with my horse galloping a few metres away and the majestic fir trees in the background. In the afternoon, we continued on our way and arrived at Les Emibois, where our younger members would be sleeping on the straw. All the same, some horse riders will prefer a nice bed after this rather tiring day. The next morning, after a delicious and ample breakfast, we cleaned the stables and set off again towards Les Breuleux with a few short stops on our way, just to make the most of this wonderful weekend of riding in horse country."
